  • Eileen Fisher, through her not-for-profit organization the Eileen Fisher Foundation, commissioned and solely funded HEY FASHION. The research and report itself were conducted by circular economy consultancy Pentatonic. The research process began in August 2021, the report was completed by May 2022 and the platform and marketing campaign launched on July 6, 2022.

  • We know this can get confusing!  Eileen Fisher, a pioneer in the world of sustainable clothing and responsible business has founded two organizations that bear her name.  Hey Fashion! was conceived of in partnership with Pentatonic and funded by the Eileen Fisher Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to inspire possibility by bringing people together to transform global systems for a better world. EILEEN FISHER is the design company that Eileen Fisher founded to create timeless, sustainably made garments and uplift the principles of responsible business, namely having a positive impact on the environment, human rights, and employee wellbeing.

  • We know we’ve said this before, but textile waste impacts us all and this report is designed for each of us to find a way into the issue and a way to work towards a solution.  The report can be read by everyone, but we know there is a lot there, so we’ve summarized its main findings on the HEY FASHION! platform to provide information in smaller, more digestible bites.

    The research focused on the main challenges and barriers facing stakeholders within the fashion supply chain and sought to amplify those closely working on and/or affected by the complex issue of textile waste.

    This report:

    • Encapsulates 50+ interviews, analysis of 32 fashion brands, 100+ credible sources referenced;

    • Gives tangible solutions to all stakeholders to effectively tackle the textile waste crisis; and

    • Offers lists of current textile recyclers, collectors and sorters, material innovators and others who need support now to meet the needs of the moment. 

  • • 50+ carefully curated individuals, primarily Founders/C-suite/Directors from across the supply chain

    • Selected a spread of stakeholders with an emphasis away from brands and more on organizations actively working to affect change in the field of textile waste.
